Why Public Health Prevention is Important

Glenn · Dec 5, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Ever wonder how the Heart Network fits into the larger picture of public health?  Or why public health prevention programs are important?  The American Public Health Association just released this infographic which does a great job of explaining the connections and the importance of prevention.  Pay particular attention to the graphic “Public Health prevention services in your community”, the Heart Network works in 4 out of the 10 service areas identified: Promote healthy lifestyles to reduce chronic conditions; keep our air, water, and neighborhoods clean; promote on-the-job health and safety; and reduce tobacco use.
