Supporting our Supporters: Heart Network Gathering to Connect and Thank North Country Tobacco Treatment Specialists

Glenn · Apr 10, 2017 · Leave a Comment

At the Heart Network, we believe in supporting our supporters. For several years, we have built up a peer-to-peer network for North Country Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialists (CTTS or ‘treatment specialist’) working within our partner Health Systems. In addition to investing in certification training, the Heart Network hosts gatherings where Treatment Specialists can connect with one another and exchange strategies, best practices, and discuss challenges. At our March 20, 2017 CTTS gathering, we took some time to recognize one of our partners for exceptional achievement.

CTTS Network members were asked to nominate a North Country Treatment Specialist or partner who has made strides, big or small, to overcome barriers to tobacco treatment access, to receive the first ‘Tobacco Treatment Appreciation Award’.

Heart Network Executive Director, Ann Morgan, presented our first Tobacco Treatment Appreciation Award to Elise Rock, CTTS, North Adirondack Medical Home (photo). Elise was recognized for her collaborative work in support support of Smoke Free Housing efforts in Plattsburgh, NY. Learn more: Team Formed to Support Plattsburgh Housing Authority Go Smokefree.
