New Report: A New Age of Cigars

Glenn · Mar 21, 2013 · Leave a Comment

A new report from the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids highlights trends in cigar manufacturing and sales over the last ten years.  While cigarette sales have been in decline, sales of cigars have more than doubled since 2000.  In at least six states, cigar smoking rates among youth and young adults are actually equal to or greater than cigarette smoking rates.

The driving forces behind these sales are an explosion of sweet small cigars and tobacco companies manipulations of FDA regulations and taxes which are less strict and lower for “cigar” products.
