On April 16th, Veronica Bradley, LPN, North Star Behavioral Health Services completed “Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training,” a four day course offered at University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Tobacco Treatment Research and Training. Prior to attending, Ms. Bradley was required to successfully complete a 9 module on-line course, “Basic Skills for Working with Smokers” offered by the U Mass. Center. Bradley’s attendance at the training was made possible with funding obtained from the American Lung Association by the Heart Network. Ms. Bradley will assist in training other Behavioral Health Services staff and expand the organization’s capacity to effectively treat consumers’ tobacco use. Congratulations to Ms. Bradley and Citizen Advocates for making tobacco cessation a priority.
