Preventing Tobacco Use Among Young Adults

Glenn · Mar 28, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Recently, Surgeon General, Dr. Regina Benjamin released a new report titled, Preventing Tobacco Use Among Youth and Young Adults.  The report states, “For every tobacco-related death two new young people under the age of 26 become regular smokers”.

You can view the report on the surgeon generals website (surgeongeneral.gov) or you can view the executive summary by clicking here

This report makes it clear that in order to reduce tobacco use in the North Country we need to start prevention and cessation counseling with our regions Youth.  The North Country Tobacco Cessation Center can offer healthcare providers and schools assistance on how to counsel youth to quit smoking.
