Letting your children be exposed to tobacco smoke is dangerous for their health and well being.
Warning: After birth, a baby that breathes secondhand smoke is at greater risk of dying from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) – the leading cause of death among babies younger than one year.
Children of smokers are more likely to become smokers and if exposed to secondhand smoke suffer from:
- Lower respiratory illnesses
- Middle ear disease
- Coughs, phlegm, wheezing, breathlessness
- Ever having asthma
- Low lung function
