This event, held annually along with its fall partner Walk & Roll to School Day, invites participants to celebrate the joy of active commuting while building a sense of community and school spirit.
“The goal of Bike & Roll to School Day is to highlight the importance of safe, active transportation to and from school, as well as to promote the critical value of accessible community infrastructure to help kids be safe while moving around their neighborhoods,” said Kat Harkins, program coordinator for The Heart Network’s Creating Healthy Schools & Communities program.
Schools across the North Country are encouraged to sign up to host their own community event. Already, Saranac Lake has multiple Bike & Roll to School days lined up throughout May and June.
If your school or community is interested in getting involved, The Heart Network’s staff can help you get signed up and organized. Contact Kat Harkins at email@example.com or (518) 891-5855 to learn more.
