Governor Andrew Cuomo in partnership with the New York State Department of Transportation has release a report, “New York State Complete Streets Report“. The report is in response to the Complete Streets Act which was signed into law by the Governor Cuomo on August 15, 2011.
The Report explains the details of the law and guidelines from the NYSDOT on implementation. They also highlight several case studies and best practices to serve as examples for other NY Communities. The Heart Network is excited and honored to have been included as an organization that has successfully worked on a number of Complete Streets efforts (see page 20 of the report).
We also want to congratulate the villages of Malone and Saranac Lake which were highlighted for their work with the Heart Network on Complete Streets.
