We’ve had some great conditions for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing this winter and we’re pretty sure winter has more great conditions in store!
Years ago, public health officials and outdoor enthusiasts realized that there was a serious lack of information on many of the great local trail systems across our region. They also realized the effect better access to information could have on community health and well being. Over the last few years the Heart Network has worked with many of those local partners to improve signage and maps at local trail systems. Providing assistance in mapping trails, help in seeking funding for maps and signage, and providing funding when able.
Now is the time to get out and enjoy those trails! Listed below are just some of the trails in our region that are great for skiing and snowshoeing. Get out there and take a photo of you, your family or a friend on your favorite trail and share it on our Get Out & Live Facebook page! We can learn about new places, be reminded of old favorites or be inspired to try something new.
