Physical Activity - Child Care & Schools
The childhood obesity epidemic is grave reminder of how important physical activity is in the lives of young children. There are many ways to keep kids active at schools and child care by encouraging movement and limiting screen time. The Heart Network provides workshops and technical assistance on nutrition and physical activity best practices for child care providers through the NAPSACC program. Initiatives for promoting physical activity as schools focus on creating local Safe Routes to School partnerships and planning routes to local schools.
