Physical Activity


The newest project we’re involved in is ‘Get Out & Live North Country”. A Tri-County initiative to find like minded people and collect their stories about how they incorporate walking and/or biking into their every day life!

Daily physical activity provides substantial health benefits for adults and children, and helps prevent obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and other chronic diseases.

Yet during the past three decades obesity rates have skyrocketed across the country, and incidences of heart disease, diabetes, and other chronic diseases are increasing.

Communities that support active living for people of all ages and abilities are part of the solution. The Heart Network partners with rural communities in Essex, Franklin and Hamilton Counties to create opportunities for walking, biking, and recreation using the 3P’s – Policy, Programs, and Projects.
