School District Ahead of the Curve on School Lunches

Glenn · Sep 7, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Saranac Lake School District will have a leg up in the lunch room this fall (Adirondack Daily Enterprise Article).  The district has a school food policy that was developed with assistance from the Eat Well Play Hard project 2 years ago and already complies with many of the guidelines in the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 which go into effect this school year.

The Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 is a federal policy that will increase healthy eating and help prevent childhood obesity as school lunch programs change their menus to comply with its new guidelines. Read more about the new guidelines.
