Rethink Your Drink – First Soda Tax in Effect

Earlier this month, Berkeley California became the first jurisdiction in the United States to impose a soda tax.  This is a huge step for the public health world.  Soda accounts for more added calories in adolescent diets than any other single source.  Imposing a tax makes the consumer think twice about what they’re buying and provides an income stream for future public health efforts.
