How Much Food Can $20 Really Buy?

Glenn · Jul 14, 2013 · Leave a Comment

We recently stumbled across this blog entry which tries to quantify the amount of healthy vs. unhealthy food items you can buy with the same amount of money.  We won’t vouch for the absolute scientific integrity of the examples, but we think it gives you a very good approximation of the power of a dollar when making food choices.

Below is one example, see the full blog at http://www.sparkpeople.com for more examples of what your money can buy.

The Heart Network’s FitPix program is working with convenience stores and restaurants across Franklin County to figure out ways for them to affordably offer healthier buying and menu options like the ones in this article.
