A group of volunteers in Upper Jay is in the process of opening up a “The Valley Kitchen”  in Upper Jay.  The ‘community kitchen’ will be a full sized commercial kitchen that producers (Farmers etc…) can use to turn their local food to marketable products that meet State DOH guidelines.  The group plans on opening up a small store adjacent to the kitchen where the locally sourced products can be sold.  The Kitchen will also serve as an education center, promoting ways to eat locally that are both affordable and easy.

Check out the full article in the Adirondack Almanack.

The Valley Kitchen is also in the process of developing a website at www.thevalleyktichen.org.
