Kids Meals: Obesity on the Menu

Glenn · Apr 12, 2013 · Leave a Comment

The Center for Science in the Public Interest recently released a report, “Kids Meals: Obesity on the Menu“. The study examined 50 different chain restaurants in the united states and compared all 3,489 different kids menu options at those chains. They found that 97% of the available kids menu options at large chain restaurants do not meet basic child nutrition criteria.

There was also one highlight, the popular chain Subway came in at the top of the list, with 100% of their children’s menu options meeting basic nutrition criteria. Way to go Subway!!

Check out the study to see the criteria used (Page 6) and see where your favorite chain restaurant ranks.
