Effective February 14, 2015, Citizen Advocates became completely tobacco free. Employees and visitors alike are now prohibited from smoking anywhere on Citizen Advocate’s property. This has led to some unanticipated push-back from the organization’s neighbors. “It’s really upsetting,” a Saranac Lake chipmunk said, “The cigarette butts left by smokers are a great insulator; they are so durable, they last FOREVER!”
Malone campus neighbors are also complaining. “The tobacco smoke is vital to my survival,” whined one doe. “It warns me a predator was close by. Now I can’t relax when I eat! ”
Sue Delehanty, Citizen Advocate’s CEO, is aware of the discontent. “I understand these changes are difficult for some, but we remain committed to doing everything we can to help with the transition.” When asked what they plan to do for their furry neighbors, Ms. Delehanty said she would bring this feedback to the Tobacco Committee for discussion.
We’ve hope you enjoyed this bit of April foolery 😉
